UCAS Admissions Process Review
UCAS today published the findings from its Admissions Process Review. In it, UCAS rejects implementing a post-results applications system (PQA).
GuildHE CEO, Andy Westwood, said:
“A post qualifications application system has been a good idea for a long time, but we are glad that UCAS have not recommended adopting the system as it was proposed. Without significant reforms to A Levels and other qualifications and to the timing of school and university years it would be virtually impossible to introduce.
“Of particular concern to specialist institutions is the impact on specific subjects with different application processes where recruitment often works in different ways and with a focus on different qualifications and evidence.
“Nevertheless we welcome the proposed improvements to the information made available to students during application, and the reforms to the ‘clearing’ process.”
