This is an exciting opportunity to provide expert policy leadership, foresight and analysis to the UK Higher Education International Unit.  You will be responsible for leading the Unit’s policy initiatives, ensuring that strategic priorities are fulfilled and stakeholder’s needs and expectations are met.

You will have a degree or equivalent experience in policy analysis and development; experience of managing staff; as well as excellent written and oral communication skills. You will be able to collect and communicate relevant information to a wide variety of audiences, in a clear and concise form. You will need excellent interpersonal skills and show credibility in dealing with senior stakeholders. Ideally, you will have experience of working in an international environment and knowledge of the UK Higher Education Sector.

Policy Officer, European Higher Education

£24,880-£30,408 plus benefits

Do you have experience in European policy?

This is an exciting opportunity to join a well established team in the higher education sector, providing policy analysis and advice on European Union and Bologna Process activities. You will also be responsible for providing advice on issues and activities concerning the internationalisation of higher education. You will be responsible for writing policy briefs and responses to UK and European consultations; and conducting research and providing policy support on a variety of international topics.

You will have a degree or equivalent experience working in an EU institution, or of working in European affairs in the UK. You will be able to monitor developments in Europe in relation to higher education. You will posses excellent written and oral communication skills; be able to communicate to a variety of audiences; and a confident public speaker and able to work with all levels of staff. Ideally you will have an interest in or knowledge of the UK higher education sector.
