St Mary's University College was founded in 1850 and is the oldest Catholic Higher Education College in the United Kingdom. St Mary's stands in some 35 acres of lawns adjacent to the River Thames with all the advantages of a great London location, with the peace of a beautiful self-contained campus situated in a leafy suburb with Kingston, Richmond and Central London close by. Institution news

On September 17th 2010 Pope Benedict XVI, visited St Mary’s University College, Twickenham as part of the first Papal Visit to the UK since 1982. He visited the University College’s Strawberry Hill campus to lead three events during the second day of his four-day state visit.
