Ruth Farwell is currently Vice Chancellor and Chief Executive at Buckinghamshire New University. She joined the University in January 2006 from London South Bank University where she was Pro Vice Chancellor with a portfolio which covered academic planning and quality in its broadest sense including both the student experience and academic standards. She joined London South Bank in August 1998 having previously held a number of head of department level posts at the University of Brighton, the last being Head of Strategic Planning. Ruth represents GuildHE on the Board of the Universities and Colleges Employers Association (UCEA) and serves on the UUK Student Experience Policy Committee and Health and Social Care Policy Committee. She is also chair of the Ethnicity and Degree Attainment Steering Group as well as chair of the Board of the South-East region Open College Network and a member of the Board of the National Open College Network.
