Professor John Last, FRSA, joined NUCA in January 2009 as Principal, having previously been Deputy Principal at the Arts University College Bournemouth. John's educational background is in English and Philosophy with postgraduate awards in Education and Film Theory. He was awarded a Chair in Higher Education Management in 2008. His academic work includes external examining for over 15 universities and conference papers over the past 20 years. John's most recent research has been into student satisfaction and the National Student Survey, upon which he has delivered conference papers and seminars over the past two years. National roles within the HE sector include Board membership of HESA, membership of the Council for HE in Art and Design Executive Committee and Chair of the NALN Executive Committee. He is also a member of the Council for GuildHE and a member of the Executive Committee for ukadia.
