Mission & Values

Our Mission

As a membership organisation of heads of higher educational institutions and their staff, we work

  • to make the case for institutional diversity and distinctiveness within the UK higher education sector;
  • to highlight the interests and strengths of our member higher education institutions (HEIs) to government, national and international agencies, employers, potential students and the wider community;
  • to represent members' views and to make an informed and evidence-based contribution to national policy development and debate concerning higher education;
  • to provide a forum for the executive heads of member institutions to take action on matters of common concern;
  • to disseminate good practice guidance and to encourage leading edge practice amongst member institutions;
  • to be a primary source of professional support to our members via the services we provide.
